Title IX Statement

Each student and employee have a right to learn and work in an
environment that is free from unlawful discrimination. No student
or employee shall be excluded from participation in, be denied the
benefits of, or be subject to discrimination on the basis of actual
or perceived sex, sexual orientation, gender, or gender identity or
expression. Alta Public Schools affirms and is committed to
providing an environment free from discrimination. Title IX of the
Education Amendments of 1972 protects individuals from
discrimination (including sexual harassment and sexual violence)
based on sex in any educational program or activity. Title IX also
prohibits retaliation for asserting or otherwise participating in
claims of sex discrimination. Furthermore, this law requires that
no discrimination shall occur regarding admission or access to, or
treatment or employment in, any program and activity on the
basis of age, race, color, national or ethnic origin, ancestry,
citizenship, sex, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation,
disability, medical condition, religion, or marital status.
